Wh1t3Nukle, I still have both axles. I advertised and am still advetising them on craigslist and have not had any takers.

I went with the D80's to get as much strength as possible. It would take a D70 HD to be the same. I also didn't want to mess with a chrome moly upgrade to them. I found these off a 3/4 ton 2001 Diesel and they were off the same truck. I went with the 3/4 ton diesel axles because I didn't want to deal with the 1ton and the possibility that it would be off a dually. Since they didn't do 3/4 dually's I didn't have to worry about misrepresentation and getting the wrong axles sight unseen.

Well, when I was putting on the swaybar disconnects, I noticed fluid seeping from the steering gearbox. So today I replaced the gearbox. It was a very straight forward replacement. Took a little over an hour. With all the new parts in the front end, it steers like a new truck.

It seems like they have the market tied up on reman units. Thats what everybody carries and the place I bought it gave me a lifetime waranty. Have you heard bad things about them? Is it better to go new from dodge? The one that just went out was original with 172K miles and 14years. You can't beat that.

I ordered a redhead steering box on Friday. It didn't take long for the cardone reman to get sloppy. This should fix up the steering issues

I ordered some Staun II internal Bead locks today. They should give me the extra traction that I crave in the sand hills.
