Default 96 1500 5.9L Battery Draw

Hey folks,

I have a 1996 Ram 1500, 5.9L, 2WD, Indianapolis Pace Edition. For a while now I've been having a draw on the battery but can't figure out where it's coming from. Had to replace the battery twice now. The draw is strong enough that the battery is totally dead by morning. I've tried removing fuses one at a time but still haven't been able to narrow it down. Brought it to a shop and he spent two days trying to figure it out. He replaced the battery cables as he said they were corroded pretty badly but it didn't help. Does anyone know of any specific electrical issues with this truck that I can look into? I'm pulling my hair out here!!

Glove box lamp. Under hood lamp. Both are good at that sort of behavior.

Remove the connector and cable from the alternator, try that first, then the computer itself can draw too much power, we always start with the fuses, then you have to just see what its left.the clock or memory in the radio can also do it.

aftermarket radio, remote start, security systems are also common culprits.
if you can't find it, put in a $5 battery disconnect so you can at least drive the truck.

i think? on one like this you can clamp your battery cable onto the end post and then just attach it to the battery post. twist the **** to connect/disconnect. i had to put one on my old chevy because i drove it so little and it had a minor radio draw

like BULLRAM said, disconnect the alternator. if a diode shorts inside it i can put a steady draw when not its running. it can kill a battery overnight easy. also there should be a fuse labeled I.O.D (ignition off draw) pull that. it powers interior lights. door buzzer, under hood light, glove box lights.
