Safe to drive with P0601 code?
Hey, my truck is throwing the P0601 code which is the internal memory control module or something like that. it has done this before last year and I got a replacement PCM and solved the problem. I moved to Texas tech and hardly ever drive (once a week to go right down the road and back) and now the code is back. I don't know if the computer didn't like sitting that long or what but it is back. It drives just fine like it did before, but I don't know how it will act when I take the 360 mile trip back home for Christmas. is it safe to drive with the code? Will it mess up anything? will my truck leave me stranded? I think the PCM still has a warranty. really wish the aftermarket would get to work and come out with alternative ECMs like ford and Chevy...... and Toyota.... and Honda.... and Mazda.... and every other automotive manufacture besides Dodge.
If you have time, and it's still under warranty, swap it out.
You might be able to drive with that code for ten years. Or, it might take a dump on your this afternoon...... It's a fun one.
