What year was the donor truck? You are prolly gonna have to get it flashed to the correct VIN.

Good luck on the swap!

I'm doin the same swap on my 99 sport tomorrow too !

From my research you ll need a pilot bearing with the sleeve, if you go to get one from a normal parts store like napa it won't have the sleeve, you have to go right to the dealer it's not pricey though I just got mine today and ran me 36$ good luck buddy post pics through out I'll make a thread Monday or whenever I'm done !

So we did the swap, started at 5 on saturday night and it out done by monday at 12.
we didnt work ridiculous hours and it was just me and my brother.

only ran into 2 problems.. shimming the stock crank sensor, we did it to far at first and it wouldn't start.
and grounding the neutral safety switch so it would turn over. all in all in was a good swap, didnt take to long and it was relatively easy. well worth it.

cost 1200 for the complete swap, came with a clutch but desided to put a brandnew one in (210$) and a new pilot bearing for dodge(60$)
So it roughly cost 1560$ witch isnt to bad.

If anyone is doing this swap and has any questions shoot me a pm

Default Im needed help with the wiring side of the swap.

Hi. I just saw the messages about what all you did for your nv3500 swap from an auto. I know its been several years since you said it all but do you remember what all you did to wire up the transmission and make the truck happy? I currently have transmission in but i dont have any sensors or know what sensors are needed for the transmission. Im also currently just planning on running the wire harness from the auto transmission and making any modifications thats needed. Any information you have, ill gladly take! Thanks!

Don't hold your breath on a response. It's been more than 10 years.....

So, what year is your truck, what year was the donor for the trans?

My truck is a 1999 dodge ram 1500 2wd. And i bought a remanufactured transmission, so its the right setup for my year truck. My current problem is that I didn't buy the wire harness for the manual transmission swap so im not sure what all i need to do with the harness to make it work with the manual transmission, and what if any sensors im going to need. I know what im doing mechanicly but im not sure what to do with the wiring, if that makes sense. Thanks for taking to time to talk to me about this.

Not sure you need much. Backup-Lamps I think are the only thing.

Do you think there is a way to wire in a neutral safety switch or should i just tie the two wires together and call it a day?
