Default Odd screeching sound from front end

Ok so about 2 months ago I replaced the ball joints in my truck. Got them put on and everything works good except for after that I have noticed that now I have a bad screeching sound that sounds like metal on metal contact going on. Here is the weird thing, It only does it for a limited amount of time. Like say if I jump in my truck after it has been sitting for quite a while and drive it down the road it will do it like crazy and then after about 10 minutes it will stop. And then say if I stop somewhere and let it sit for about an hour or so and get in it and drive off, again it will do it for about 10 minutes and then stop. I had it looked at and the mech. said that it had something to do with the front driveshaft because he said that he took it out and drove it down the road and it didn't make a sound.

can you put the truck on up 4 jack stands and operate it in gear. see if you can duplicate the sound. be careful of moving parts.
