Default TUNERS OR PCM??

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MOPAR PCM AND A HYPERTECH TUNER OR SUPERCHIPS TUNER??
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE??
IS THE ACTUAL MOPAR PCM AVAILABLE FOR A 01?
WOULD YOU PREFER THE SUPERCHIPS TUNER OVER THE HYPERTECH TUNER?

I have the hypertech and love it. the ability to pull the program is a plus in my opinion. i'd imagine the superchips is the same way.

I love my Performance PCM. The performance PCM is already set up for optimum performance for stock and lightly modded motors. A tuner is a must if you are going to heavily modify your vehicle. I have one for my 99 Grand Prix, but I don't know of one for my V10.

The mopar performance PCM require premium fuel only. With the programmers (hypertech, superchips), you can run tuning sets on mid grade or premium. Kinda nice given the prices of fuel these days. Also like that you can pull the program completely with the programmer as Steve mentioned.

Lastly, the performace PCM says specifically that it is not intended for towing or hauling heavy loads. This is a big minus in my book (though not sure why that restriction is put on it) since I tow and haul often.

I want some type of perfomance tuner for my Dodge... but none of them make one for the '96 ( I think the computer isn't reprogramable) is there anyway I can switch my computer for a 97-01 and then tune it? or is there a chip or all new pcm that would work just as good with none of the towing/premium fuel stips. I had a jet III on it but it didn't do a thing no HP and no better feul mileage... just made it so that I had to crank the truck twice every time.... any suggestions?

I HAVE THE SUPERCHIPS TUNER AND IT DID MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE. IT HAS SETTINGS FOR 87 OCTANE AND 91. I COULDNT TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO SETTINGS AND IN MY OPINION THE TOWING SETTING HELPED WHEN I WAS PULLING A LOADED DOWN U-HAUL FROM TEXAS TO CALI.
I'M SORRY I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE 96.
