I got a 1997 dodge 2500 with 360 gas and I want to make it a diesel. I can get parts pretty easy and good price. Just was wonder what I would need to take out and replace. Like suspension, trans, tranfer case and rear end? Please HELP!

Easiest will be to have your own donor rig sitting right next to the rig your going to transplant into. Try doing a search as there is a thread on here that is pretty current with someone who just swapped a 4BT into their truck. They would be able to answer your questions.

What transmission do you har now? If you have an auto, you need to upgrade. Won't handle the power and I'm pretty sure they won't bolt up. You need to make sure you have a Dana 60 front axle, my 2500 did, they all might I'm not sure. A 12 valve would be easiest, because they are simple. The front springs need to be upgraded to handle te heavier diesel, otherwise it be saggin. Motor mounts I'm not sure. Exhaust will be different also

All 2500 have front dana 60 unless you have one those early "light duty" gassers that had 44/9.25

Tranny unless you have nv4500 then you will need a bellhousing
T case (probably just swap input shafts)
Diesel springs
Dash cluster
Fuel pump
Fuel lines???
Rear axle, 70/80 not 60
Motor mounts???
Power steering pump, the diesel one is different somehow I think, can't remember
Exhaust, but that will be easy

The 46 wouldn't handle the power without serious upgrades.

The 47RE in the diesels use a different bellhousing.

46 Won't bolt to diesel.

What kind of shape is the donor truck in? If it's better than yours, just run it. if the mechanicals are good, and just the body is rough, swap the better body on. Otherwise, you would probably spend less by just buying a diesel truck.
