Default Will 2wd front shocks fit a 4x4?

Can't find anything that says for sure or not, figured y'all might know! Thanks

Also, if I'm lifting my truck 3.5 inches would it be best to get shocks for 2"-3" of lift or 4"-5" of lift?

i don't know... the top(body) end is probably the same, but the 4wd is going to bolt into the dana front axle vs the 2wd bolting into a control arm. length could also be different. if nobody knows, try monroe or other mfg web site and see if they offer a picture/dimensions/travel of each model number. you can get the model numbers from the mfg'er, or rockauto, or anyone's application guide.

3.5. i say either... the extra, or less, 1/2 inch won't make any difference. the shock travel distance will be sufficient either way.

I recently bought shocks for my 2wd, the idiot behind the counter gave me 4wd shocks. Now 4wd shocks are WAY TOO LONG for a 2wd, so I'd be inclined to think that 2wd shocks would be too short for 4wd...

They're like a foot shorter. Just get the 4wd ones.
