Do you prefer a brand? How much do they run?

Summit Racing carries the Harland Sharp rockers for around 350. Might be cheaper elsewhere.

Why adjustable rr's? that to me would be a cover up for what's going on. Find the problem and fix it right, I wounder if the lifters were put in right, oil hole must be pointing up, if they are not it will run but have a tick to it.

Take it back to whoever did the work make this there problem and expense.

If it is as I suspect, and it is a reground cam, simply using adjustable rockers will solve the problem. Either that, or measure pushrod length, and order up some that are the correct length. (pushrods may be cheaper, but, I like the upgrade with the roller rockers.)

I think you are right but that's going to have to be one big cut on the cam, the lifters should be able to handle this. I don't think I know of anyone that has used a regrind cam and needed longer push-rods.

There is not much for adjustment on the rr's stud for taking up slack (I think I had half a turn left before I bottomed out the rr on the stud), he still might need longer push-rods, or valve stem lash caps like I use.

I suppose the first thing that should happen is checking valve lash, and seeing what we get.

You could try using a stethoscope to isolate where the noise is coming from.

Thanks for all the advice! Just curious why it doesnt make the noise at start up? It only makes the noise fully warmed up. Cause for that?

As the engine warms, tolerances open up. One would think, that expanding metal parts would actually make them tighter... but, for some obscure reason, it doesn't work that way.

HeyYou: I appreciate the help. Ill have to call up my mechanic and pick his brain about the adjustable rockers. During the whole predicament my mechanic mentioned something about wishing the push rods were just a hair longer and complaining about dodges wonderful designs and the rockers not being adjustable. Im willing to bet it was a re- ground cam. If I do get the problem resolved without swapping out the motor I will post what the problem was. The motor came with a 3 year 100,000 Mile warranty so we still have plenty of time. Thanks!
