Default 5.9 magnum upgrades?

I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 5.9 360 magnum and I want to make it fast! I have everything completely stock with a brand new 360 crate motor and freshly rebuilt transmission. I was looking for some suggestions on what to do to this turd! It looks good on the outside but not to hot under the hood. Please give me some ideas that aren't outrageously priced. Thanks!

Without rebuilding your brand new engine (for a 408, iirc), probably the best thing you could do is re-gear. It'll get you off the line quicker, but you'll lose top speed.

Could always boost it, if you got the time, money, and know-how.

If you want fast and power, a stoker 408 is the way to go.. But ridiculously priced.

Fastman 52mm TB
SCT Tuner by Hemifever
Cam
1.7 rollers
Long tube headers
CAI
M1 intake
Aftermarket heads

Has a '95, don't think SCT will work.
Cam and rockers would add a little.
Headers-not much.
CAI is worthless.
M1 and heads would add.

Basically would have to rebuild the top end of the new motor. And it still won't be "fast".

Well I haven't rebuilt the motor yet because I'm trying to figure out what I want to do first. There's a mopar guy in my area that's really good with this kind of stuff. I could bore the 5.9 with a stroker kit?

I'd have to agree with them. M1, rollers, cam, and heads would be great. Cam and headers sounds beastly too. Still all depends on your definition of "outrageously priced" and "fast" lol

How much do you wanna spend?

Also keep in mind that major engine modifications are going to require you do something about the programming in the PCM. As yours is OBDI, you can't simply flash a new tune into it. You will have to send it out, have it tuned (around 250 bucks) wait for it to come back, and try it out. If it isn't right, you will have to send it out, have it RE-tuned (another 250 bucks), and try it again. Repeat as necessary till you get something that will run the engine. Either that, or scrap the stock system, and go with some aftermarket system, and then try and figure out a way to run the TCC, and O/D in the trans.

Also, it's a truck. It's heavy, and will never really be 'fast'..... unless you spend a HUGE pile of money on it..... even then, some guy with a car that has spent a tenth of what you did, will still leave you in the dust.
