Default Front + Rear Dana 60 3.55 to 4.10 gear swap?

I'm seriously considering swapping to 4.10 ring and pinions in my Dana 60 front and rear axles, since I've installed 285/75/16 tires. Does the front axle require reverse rotation gears?

no...

If you mean the reverse cut gears, those are for the high pinion diffs., yours is low pinion.

I'm on the hunt for a good set of new or used 4.10 gear sets, so I want to be sure I pick up the right items. Should the ring and pinions used in the front and rear axles be the same part numbers?

Maybe..... They are designated front, and rear axle applications I do believe. If nothing else, call and have a chat with your vendor of choice, to make sure you get the right parts.

He is working on a Dana 60, the Dana 60 axle has a 4.10 down and 4.56 up carrier break point. So his carrier will work he just has to re-shim it for the 4.10 gears.

For the 9.25 4.88 is the lowest you can go. Dana 60 is 7.17 I think.
