Recently i purchased a 97 1500 and it came with the 5.2l v8 4x4 5 speed, and i was wondering if the 5.9 would bolt on to the transmission, i wanted to get a 5.9 with a 5 speed but there impossible to find, so i wanted to do a swap. Thanks!

 

Yep, it will drop right in, and bolt right up. You will need a flywheel for the 5.9, but, so far as I know, that is the only difference.

You will need to flash the PCM for the larger motor as well. Hemifever tuning can help with that.

BUT! The NV3500 really won't like being behind a 5.9..... they weren't the most robust to begin with. The bigger motor has the potential to make VERY short work of it.
