Default Having big problems with removing 3" body lift

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT V8 5.9L. When I attempted to remove the 3" pucks that lifted my body, I had several problems. The first was that the fan shroud was lowered, so I moved it up. Now the key will not turn into all it's positions and more importantly the shift linkage is messed up. R is park, N is reverse, D is neutral, and so on. I need help. If anyone has an idea of what I need to do I'd appreciate it greatly.

When body lifts are install the shift linkage is cut and lengthened this is what's causing your shifting and possibly your key issues as well.

No you can most likely cut out what they put in and have it rewelded so its back to the stock length. if thats not an opt for you then head to a auto wrecker and see if you can find a used one.

This is a link to the install sheet for a body lift, have a read through it so you can reverse what was done to install it.

In the 99 parts book page 470 you will see all the shift linkage parts shown. The parts book and the factory service manual can be downloaded in the diy area here on DF free.

Oh yes Welcome to DF.
