Thank you for your advice, however; I need the wire color coding for plugins ecm main computer. There is an A, B, & C plugins on the ecm. Plugin for C pin 12 states that it is system automatic shutdown, this wire is burnt and I need to know what the color code for that wire? (I have a new ecm, and I don't want to fry it - this is the 3rd one).

Ok according to the 96 and 2001 manual its same thing 12 A142 14DG/OR AUTOMATIC SHUT DOWN RELAY OUTPUT
Ok so chance's are good that your's is the same.
Which means that it goes to the output on the auto shut down relay. Which is pin 87.
The only way to know for sure is to trace the wire thru the harness. Which you should do anyways if its burnt because it could have melt into another wire somewhere.
Now you could get a multimeter and take the auto relay out and do an ohm test on the wire.
Which would be done by taking the burnt end and stripping it to get good wire and then place one lead from the multimeter(set to do an OHM reading) on pin 87 inside the pdc where the auto shut down relay plugs in and the other lead to the stripped end and check the reading.
Now you could get a false reading if its burnt somewhere else in the harness.
