brake job nightmare
I replaced all brake lines, front rotors, pads, rear drums, cylinders and shoes. Truck drove fine. I took it to a shop because they felt soft, and there was 2 lines I couldn't get at to replace. (I contacted the shop-got an idiot answer....)
After receiving the truck back, I changed the oil and noticed an electrical sensor was not connected. It plugs into an aluminum block where four brake lines tie in. I connected this sensor, and immediately the ABS and brake light came on. I noticed no difference in the braking feel, but cant determine why the lights are on. I plugged in my standard code reader-no codes.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance...

Proportioning valve. Also, its a safety valve the blocks off a circuit that fails. (and turns on the lite....) Probably they didn't bleed the brakes properly. You can take it back, and make them fix it, or, you can just deal with it yourself, and know that it is done right.
If you decide to do it yourself, grab a friend, park 'em in the drivers seat, have said friend pump up the brakes, and hold the pedal. Crack open a bleeder. (standard rotation: right rear, left rear, right front, left front.) When you have all the air out of a side, move on to the next, when you have all four done, see if the lights are off. If they aren't, do the same thing on just one of the rears. Check the lites again. If they are still on, try one of the fronts. Might take a time or two to reset the valve.
