Default having heating issues??

Brand new to the forum, Hi, A friend said you guys know everything and praise this site greatly. Well here goes...

I have a 2001, 1500 Ram Sport with the 360 under the hood. It was having cooling issues and not putting out any heat in the cab. Problem turned out to be a clogged rad. Changed that, did the water pump to seeings as I had her apart.

My problem..Still not much heat in the cab. I've bled the system, no air locks. All the ducting is putting out plenty of air. The heater core is good and hot (lines, tubes, top of core and bottom) Check the vent flaps, all move freely and the motors move properly. I only get heat through the ducts if the temp control is at max, anything else is cold air.

Anybody have any ideas.

If you get GOOD heat with the temp dial all the way over, need to drop the little motor that controls the blend door. It's right above the trans tunnel, towards the passenger side, on the bottom of the heater box. Check the little coupler between the motor, and the axle, it likes to split. Heater Treater makes a nice metal replacement.

I checked that once I established the core was hot. Everything looked good, the motor rotates nicely and the flap moves freely. I marked the coupler thinking maybe the motor was backing off after going to max, but it travels full distance and stops. I'm going to borrow an inspection camera to try to get a look inside. Maybe the previous owner lost a pen or something through a vent. A friend had a Chevy doing something similar and that was the problem, cost the poor guy $1200 at the dealer to get it out. Thanks for the input

Did you actually pull the little motor? (I know, it's a pain....)

Even though the heater core hoses are hot, you could still need to flush the heater core. Hot water is getting into it, but might not be flowing through quickly enough to heat well. It's worth a try.
