Air Bags in rear
Hey guys. Is anybody using Air Lift brand air bags in the rear? If you are, did you need to cutout a hole in the wheel well liner for them to fit? I can't seem to find a solid answer. I've seen some setups with the hole cut in the liner but found where some say you don't need to. Thinking of getting some, they are almost half the price on amazon compared to other places, but really don't want to cut the liner. Thought I'd get answers straight from the users. Thanks guys
I cut the liner as per Firestones instructions, pissed me off doing it. Ok so I never once saw any indication of the liner rubbing the airbag, it was close though. In hindsight I should have test fit before cutting anything.
Edit; Put it all together and test fit the liner last (before cutting it) and go from there. Even with the hole I cut into the linear part of the bags were still covered by the liner, thats how I know they did not rub.

I used a set of timbrens. They worked we'll for me. But don't get them if your springs are already sagging because the ride will suck.
They aren't air bags but I preferred the "put them on and forget about it" approach. And the price.
But air bags are superior overall.

I just read the install online with these air lift air bags, they say to remove the liner and when you put it back on they provided some fenderwell spacers. Sounds like there is no cutting of the liner, but it may have a bulgy look.
I have a pair of Air lift airbags on my Cummins and I never had to cut the bed or wheel well liners at all, other than two little holes in the bed under the tailgate for hooking an airline up to them to air them up.
Sadly they are dry rotted and wouldn't trust them anymore since its been sitting for over a year without a bed.
