Default What fluid goes in my transfer case?

I have a 99 1500, base model, 4x4. With a 5.2l and a five-speed. What kind of fluid or oil should I put into my transfer case?

Are you sure, cause I've heard that I need to put 80/90 gear oil in it too. I just need to figure out witch one I need by tomorrow so I can replace my transfer case.

No, definitely not 80/90. Possibly the same stuff you put in your trans, which is some funky, expensive, synthetic syncro-mesh fluid...... but, for us folks with autos, we use the same fluid we put in the trans.

Yup, it was a bit of a shocker to me when I first found out that the manual trans and the transfer case all use auto trans fluid.
