Start then quickly stall.....
So I have been busy with work and I have not driven my truck in a while. I still have half a tank of gas but was thinking about just driving the truck tomorrow to work and hope for the best in trying to get the tank a little less empty.
Is there the possibility of driving with a bad fuel pump that it could cause additional problems if driven around?

It could quit entirely, and then, there ya sit.
The computer will compensate to an extent for a failing pump. If it gets to the point where the computer can't, it will start whining about running lean. Usually, the pump stops working entirely before you get to that point though. So, it's a gamble. I don't like managing half full gas tanks either..... that's just a pain.

well i decide to just go and try it with 1/2 a tank, getting the connectors disconnected was the biggest pain in the ***.
Just a quick question... What is that thing next to the fuel pump? is that the fuel filter and should I change it?

so far...

Think that's the rollover protection valve, or, part of the evap system. Not sure which. Fuel filter is integral to you pump module. By changing the pump, you are, be default, also changing the regulator, and filter.
So if it is not the IAC and not the fuel pump, is there anything else it could possibly be? I think I might have a bad battery, but I dont think that is causing the problems. There are no problems on the start up (besides it stalling but if I give it gas it will run) just having issues on keeping the engine running at the initial warm up. After the warm up it runs like a champ.

Dave
no codes but i just replaced the IAC
Maybe I will try replacing the batter..... batteries are getting expensive these days

Just changed the battery today finally. So far it runs like a beast. It has been (the past weeks or so) getting worse. I did get the battery tested and it said it was bad. We will see if it keeps on running smooth on a cold start.
