Default Overhead console

I was trying to take the lens off the little clicker thing to turn the light on and off broke. How hard is that to fix? I have looked up videos and what not but it was a lot of non-descriptive stuff and rambling. I also looked up the cost to replace the whole thing is way to expensive. It does not have the compass and temp digital thing on it. Is it worth the effort to fix, and worth the money to but another one? Also, in order to fix the light, it have to take the console thing out. How hard is that, and how do I do it?

Look in the 01 service manual for R&R. No idea how hard to fix.

You may have just broken a mounting tab on the inside of the bezel that the light fixture screws into. If I remember correctly there's two screws and you just slide the fixture forward and out. I JB welded the mounting posts back on to the bezel and it worked good as new. Hopefully your issue is that simple

When I got my 2000 ram it to had a non working over head console light. The clicking you hear when you turn the light on is the push on push off light switch, its a cheap switch that fails and comes a part. To repair it you need to find the same exact switch because it has to fit in an very tight spot and nothing else will work..

I found a switch from a mid 90`s ram at a junk yard and was able to modify it and make it work. The shaft was a little to long and I had to shorten it a little, now both of my over head console lights work again.

I just fixed both mine. Bought two new switches from digikey and crimped the wires together and it works perfectly. Taking the overhead down is easy and replacing the switches is easy.

That's the link to the two switches I ordered. Like 7$ including shipping. If you need more info on installation lemme know and I can explain. It's pretty simple though.
