Default A/C blowing on the floor

My 98 1500 5.2 is blowing air half way to the floor and hardly any on the vents 2 feels like 1 and 3 feels like 2. I also hear the compressor click on every 10 seconds or so. I previously had the fire wall leaking water into my floorboard but i put a elbow hose on the firewall to drain out the condensation water. No leaks any more but Ac still blows on the floorboard. any suggestions?

As you are in Florida.... I doubt the liquid in there has frozen.....

The default position, when vacuum fails, is defrost. If you disconnect the line under the hood that supplies vacuum to the control head, will it go to defrost?
