Heavy pedal?
I've owned a gen 2 (94) for about a year, I recently bought a 01, little upgrade
and the pedal feels heavy then the 94. I did chop the tail pipe off the 94 to run under the passenger door. Would that be the reason why my 01's pedal feels heavier? I do have full dual out the back.

your 01 has the "death flash"...in other words, it has the crappy dodge computer tuning from the factory that they put on the later 2nd gen rams to compensate for problems caused by the defective plenum plate...in order to correct it, you'll need an sct or superchips tuner. It also may need a good tune-up or some other engine maintenance (timing chain?)
I got a lot more responsiveness out of my 01 5.2 after a timing chain replacement, plenum fix, and superchips stock tuner. Biggest impact right in the seat was definitely the tuner, but I didn't want to do that until I had the rest in place.

The problem is the stock plate is steel... it's not the thickness of the plate that is the issue.
Steel and aluminium expand at different rates, and this chews up the gasket.
The aftermarket fixes all use aluminium plates... they are only thicker so the softer ali doesn't distort.

If the cable from the gas pedal to the throttle body gets knocked off its retainer it will do that, but it will feel like you have to push your pedal in all the way to even hit 2k rpm.. I've heard of plenum plates and clogged cats doing this, can't confirm since every time I try to order a plenum kit something else breaks..
