1997 ram 1500,4wd,5.9 eng and auto trans
When truck is cold, when in reverse I get a noise from transmission and it sounds like a pump is sucking air.
I warm rig up in neutral and when I go to reverse I get this racket. Only when when engine and tranny are relatively cold. 20-40 degrees F. After rig is warm no noise in backup.
Anyone have an idea what this racket is?
Thanks-Seajack

Welcome to DF!
have you checked fluid level? (gotta check in neutral, fully warmed, engine running.)
If fluid level is ok, time to drop the pan, and see if anything interesting is in there.
