Can I convert to manual hubs and not have to deal with the auto vacuum ****.can someone explain how it works.. would be vreatly appritiated.

 

There is conversions to do convert the hubs, but probably cost as much as your truck is worth.

If I recall correctly the kit to convert the hubs are around $500 per hub, so $1000 to do it. I was thinking of doing the option posted by kejobe when my actuator broke, but I ended up re-hosing the lines and buying a new actuator.

 

Somthing like 92-96 ford knuckles from an F250 supposedly have all the parts to convert ours to manual hubs. (but, not the inner axles...) I think.

That was something I was looking at.

 

Posi lock would be the way to go. Keep the benefits of a CAD, and not having to get out to engage 4x4. But get rid of the troublesome vaccuum system

 

I looked intto the ford knuckles and would still need lots of parts to work and the posi lok is relatively cheap.. thanks for the replies
