Default Help!!!

I am working on a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 dually with the cummins in it. The problem is that the parking lights, taillights and clearance lights wont turn off unless you pull the parking lamp fuse in the dash fuse panel or disconnect the battery. The truck has been at another repair shop and they have put new headlamp switch and multi-function switch in and it still wont turn off the lights. Also when you turn on the headlights the parking light fuse blows. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Moving this to the correct forum.

You have a short somewhere. Headlight switch provides ground path for the lights, not power. Start tracing the wiring.

Welcome to DF!

I figured there is a short and I have checked the common places. Turns out this thing was wrecked and I have found a bunch of spliced wires under the drivers side battery, parking light sockets etc. So far no luck though.

Grab the 01 service manual from the Service Manual thread in the FAQ section here. It has wiring diagrams. Give you an idea of where things go.

These trucks have shoddy wiring at best, much less if someone did a hackjob on it also

I feel your pain
