Default Brake lights question

Hi , I have a Dodge 2000 Ram 1500. Brake lights stay on even when vehicle is turned off. Any suggestions on what may be causing this and what to do to fix it myself. thank Gary

Welcome to DF. I will move this to the correct section. For future reference:

Your brake switch is either bad of come loose. Take a look under the dash at it.

Thanks, I don't mean to sound dumb, but were is the switch located. I checked under dash thought it would be behind brake pedal.

Actually, I think it is FRONT of the brake pedal, right up by where it pivots...... It isn't adjustable though, so, if it is out of adjustment, only option is replacement.

Do you have a trailer harness by any chance?
