Did you get this figured out?

I'm having a hard time getting the 97 FSM to download, but did they change any of the pin-outs between those years? They switched interiors (and who knows what else) mid-98, so they could have updated the pin outs and wiring diagrams.

Still sounds like a problem in that neutral safety switch circuit somewhere... I'd double check the wiring diagrams for the 97 (closest to your 98, if it's pre-switch) and the 2001 and just make sure those three pins all go to the same locations across all years.

Of course, I've shorted out many a fuse while doing "custom" wiring... Are all your fuses still good after all the swapping you've done?

I have a rebuilt tranny and the neutral safety switch is wrong the New transmission has a round one and the old one has a square one what can I do.

Just swap the switches.
