ok y'all I'm still goin at it with this truck i put a mechanical gauge on an it read right above 0 an it won't read till 4000 rpms an then it reads 25 i then turn the truck off an checked the oil it seems bone dry so I'm gonna get some oil in it an see if it reads different.
is a blown plenum a cause of burning oil an what is a plenum?
The plenum is the plate on the bottom of your intake...you may be able to see oil in the bottom if you open your TB and look down it and yes a blown plenum definitely causes oil to get burned
The plenum repair is an exercise. Read the be-all, end-all plenum thread at the top of this forum. The whole intake needs to come off, as the plenum plate is on the bottom of it.... (great plan there dodge....) It is at LEAST a days work to do. (unless you are experienced.)
i did some lookin an I'm pretty sure theres oil in the intake..what all do i have to remove other than tb
Like heyyou said check out the plenum thread. I did mine in about a day and that was the first time I've ever worked on a car. Its pretty straightforward just find some write-ups on it and you will be golden. And the guys here are great about helping you out when you need it.
