Default Soooo i messed up

Did a double roller timing chain today and i was following a write up on pavement sucks. At the beginning it says to mark the distributor cap and then remove it but if your replacing the chain it can wait till after disassembly just before removing the chain. Well, following along the topic never came back up so i followed and replaced the chain not looking back. Well as we all know, once the chain was back on and set, i got excited. Put it all back together and obviously no start because of all the movement on the crank and cam shafts setting the timing on those. Anyone know how i can reset the timig at the distributor without a complete teardown again? Please help!

If memory serves, on any engine doing basic timing bring cylinder number 1 to TDC on compression stroke then point the rotor toward the contact for number 1. Hope this helps

Why did you even mess with the dizzy cap? Did you take it off or move anything? Not sure why the crank and cam had to be moved at all. Just take old chain and sprockets off, dont touch anything. Then put the new ones on.

What exactly did you do?

Download service manual in the facts section it will tell you what you need to do.
