Default alternator amperage

Hi,
So im looking for a new alternator and the only ones i can find are for 117 amps but when i run my vin it says i takes a 136 amp, could it be listed under a different vehicle.
Its a 2001 dodge ram 1500 sport 2wd 5.9L. It has all the amenities like power windows and locks, heated mirrors etc. and it has about 1500 watts of sound in it to.

Thanks Guys and Gals,
Mike

Go to your local dealer with the last 9 digits of your VIN number and he can print off the build sheet for your vehicle its free.
Build sheet tells you everything that came on your truck from the factory.
At the very least he can tell you what amp alt it came with.

Get the 136 amp. Might want to consider upgrading your wiring if you have a big sound system

Advance has them in a couple different manufacturers. Anywhere from 150 or so, to 225 or so.
