Default 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 fuel pressure problem

Hi guys I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 . Fuel pressure is 20psi when you put the truck in gear and step on the brake the truck dies. We have put 2 fuel pumps in, same problem 20psi. When I put 12 volts to the pump I can get 35 psi at th pump. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

You should have right about 39 PSI at idle.

Are you buying airtex pumps by any chance?

Moving this to the right section.

And there is your problem. Airtex has an absolutely horrid reputation. Go with the Delphi, or Denso pump.

We were able to fix it today found out we were loosing the ground to the pump ran a new ground and took care of the problem

If you still have an airtex pump in there, you will get to do this again in about a year.... they are terrible.
