Everything is a compromise, you gain some bottom end, but, lose some top end. Of course, I can count the number of times my engine has made it over 4500 RPM on one finger.....

Driving a stick (even though I'm running higher rpm's now, than I did stock) I've ever had mine that high.

Seems like this is info I should have had before I put the new timing chain in... oh well, next time I'm in there.

With the mods I have to date, I've found a nice 3rd gear sweet spot at 2000-2200 that you can hook up with on mild acceleration, that follows your foot as you smoothly add more peddle... tacho and speed both ramp up nicely.

It's not a rocket sled, but it is a pleasant improvement over stock.

I advanced it on my 5.2.

1. Was there an improvement? Sure.
2. Was it a huge improvement? Not really.
3. Was it from the advancement or just from replacing the worn chain and plenum fix? Hard to say.
4. If I had to do it again, what would I do? Probably go stock.

Just my 0.02.

Stock it is lol, the weather here in TN is so bi-polar, I still haven't progressed anywhere yet. I'm waiting until it decides on 75 degrees or 30 degrees for a couple days in a row haha.

my only other advice, issue i ran into during this was the crankshaft seal. the fel-pro kit came with a new seal so i figured id be stupid not to change it while it was all apart. needless to say after fighting to try and get the new seal in and eventually breaking it, i learned that the seal that comes with the felpro kit is a little too big, very small not noticeable by eye but its too big. i had to wait until the next morning, ran to the local dodge dealership they had it in stock for like 11 dollars, the true mopar part fit perfect and it went in in about 2 minutes after spending 2 hours trying to get the other one in. just a little tip to help you get it done once you start working on it.
