Default 99 ram 2500 4x4 leaking from front pumpkin

I have a leak from the front pumpkin right at the drive shaft that goes to the trans. I was wondering if there's a seal there and if it's easy to replace. It's not the shafts that go to the wheels also. Just right in the back where the driveshaft goes in. Any input will help. Thanks

That would be the pinion seal leaking. Shouldn't be too difficult to replace. Just need the right the tools and some time. The procedure is marked out in section 3-66 of the 2001 service manual. You can download it from here

Thanks! Ya I've been looking at threads on here about it. Any idea if this will cause my truck to not pass inspection?

No they don't check for leaking pinion seals during inspections.
