Default Side Mirror -- Reglue

So one of my side mirrors came out and hung from the wires for the heating element. The glue finally gave up.

I tried some mirror glue from the part store, as was told the stuff used for the inside rear view one would work.

Tried that and 3 days later, while sitting in the sun, it pops out again.

Any particular choice out there to use? Anything bad about using like Gorilla super glue?

Nothing is damaged. Just no stick anymore.

Thanks

I've had better luck with plain on contact cement. I never had good luck with gorilla glue.

I would try a product called 4611 VHB tape made by 3M. I guarantee you'll never have a problem with it coming out again. The only problem with the tape is super expensive but sometimes they will send a free sample if you contact them through their website.

3M™ VHB™ Tape 4611 is a firm double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape with a PE film liner. 45 mil thick.
•High strength
•Durable
•Clean appearance

Gorrilla glue is some great stuff, but it is messy.

Thier super glue, the none expanding version, is some pretty tough stuff too.

Thanks for the response dudes. I went to look at my stash of stick stuff. It's already in hand...so what would you use? The Gorilla stuff here is "Impact Tough" solution. lol

Worse is that the mirror pops off again...and I try the next one, like that tape Old Dodge 1 suggests. Very appreciative of that one for sure.

For some reason super glue never seems to work regardless what I am trying to fix. I have had some good luck with two part epoxy glue and silicone that they use to chaulk in windows on buildings, so good luck

Agreed, regular superglue is just good at glueing my fingers together, never the parts I'm trying to glue..
