Default Brake Lights/Hazards not working

Well, I've got the 98 Ram 1500 SLT Laramie 318 auto. Brake lights don't work but the running tail lights do. And the turn signals and hazards don't work. Was driving down the road with the hazards on due to bad weather on a road that had no material on it and then they quit working, no hazards, no turn signals and no brake lights other than tail lights. Fuse maybe? Haven't had time to look just yet, want to have as many opinions as possible xD

fuses, bulbs, and the relay/switch is where I would look first. prolly in that order.

Exactly what I was thinking, I'm probably gonna check the fuse first then relay because all have the bulbs have been replaced 2 months ago.

I had this problem, ended up spraying WD-40 into the multifunction switch (turn signal lever) and working it up and down rapidly. Everything started working. Apparently, the contacts build up dirt/grime or whatever you want to call it.

Well. It was the fuses but then they blew again, at the same time. What's causing this???

remove the factory trailer harness. I do believe it just plugs in somewhere on the rear harness.

Ok. So, I took a look at my trailer harness and it appears that it was put in with spliced wires. I'm gonna rewire it tomorrow night when I go to buddies place to redo the rear drums.

Unhooked my hitch cover lights. The brake lights fuse went out again but the turn signals still work

Are you sure the right size fuse indicated on the cover is in there? Try a size up and see if it still blows.

Its a 20 amp fuse. I refuse to put any other sizes in. I do NOT want an electrical fire in my truck all because a line had too much going through it.
