What year is your truck? What year is the donor motor? Do you have an automatic, or manual trans? Emissions testing in your area?

Basically, the 5.9 will drop right in, and bolt right up. Things you need to concern yourself with are how the engine is balanced (which varies year to year), and if you can flash your current PCM with a 5.9 tune, or, would you need a replacement PCM.

The only thing that might have to be changed is the intake manifold, and the crank/cam sensors. Everything else bolts right on.

If the donor motor is 96 or newer, should be a direct swap. As mention, use the intake/sensor off your old motor. (unless the donor motor is 2000 or newer, then it doesn't matter.)

So basically everything is straight forward. Will I still be able to use my stock PCM ? Or will I have to get a new one?

You can use the stock PCM, but, will need to get it flashed for the 5.9. Dealer might do it for an hours labor. (probably around a hundred bucks....) But, the tune they give you will be the death flash. Other alternative would be have a chat with Sean at Hemifever tuning, get a tuner from him that will be MUCH better than stock, and make your 5.9 run quite nice. Its a couple hundred more though.... Don't know the exact price at this point, but, I *think* it is north of 400 bucks..... (and worth every penny.)
