Default Overheating issues

So I searched the forum but couldnt find my answer so here is the problem.

I drive a 96 dodge ram and it got stolen and wrecked. Upon repairing it I noticed it was overheating so I changed the thermostat, replaced valve cover gaskets, got a new water pump, and then a radiator. I burped the system and its full on fluid yet it still overheats. The only thing that is broken still is the ac condenser in front of the radiator. Could this be my problem or is best to assume a cracked head? I even tested the thermostat, water pump, and radiator before installing and the radiator has a new cap on it too.

Sure does sound like the problem is in the heads somewhere...unless there's a really difficult pocket of air caught in there somewhere. The ac condenser has nothing to do with engine cooling so that's not contributing to the problem.

Is your oil milky or are you getting white smoke out of the tailpipe? Did you burp the truck with the passenger side wheel raised up a bit higher than the rest?

Fan clutch is most likely bad.

You think the fan clutch could make a 50-60 degree difference?

I don't....in fact i dont think i've ever personally seen an engine that overheats due to the fan clutch alone being bad. Need some more info on your symptoms tho. Probably time to do a compression test too...

id def. check the oil and see and go from there. as far as the fan not workin you may be able to see a number difference like that at idle but not while driving. does it change at all when you turn on the heater and idle it up a little?

The truck seems to heat up to about 240 which is not good so I had a test done and the heads are done. Looks like its time to get some go fast goodies.

Needed repairs are the best excuse for upgrades! For me, I needed to replace my plenum, so it seemed the perfect time to go ahead and get the hughes airgap
