Default calibers sticking

hay strangest thing happened today both calibers locked up on my truck today. at first i noticed when driving when i gave the truck gas it wouldn't go so i gave it more gas and still wouldn't go it wasnt until i stopped i noticed all this white smoke coming from both tires. i was able to make it home but had to put the hose to the brakes when i got home. what would cause this randomly? i had no problems before plus it had a recent brake job about a year ago . the calibers have released now and all is fine but will this happen again and how much damage have i done?

Some easy things to check are if the master cylinder is overfilled and if the caliPer (not caliber, flip that b upside down) slide pin has seized. The master cylinder should have a full mark, if not, it should be ~1/2" from the top. For the slide pin, pull the caliper and pads off and grease the pin with brake grease. Bleeding the brakes and topping off the master cylinder is worth a try too.

Other causes might be a bad master cylinder or the metering/combo brake valve. I'd also inspect all the brake lines for wear and bulging.
