Default need a little shock absorber help

I ordered some Bilstein 4600 shocks online, but what they sent me was the 5100 series. Since I don't want to messs with the hassle of returning these, I would like to try and install these if they'll work. Truck is a 99 Ram 1500 crew cab, 5.2L, 2WD on stock suspension with a 2" leveling kit?

What's the size difference between those and the old shocks? Mounting the same between the two?

If they're pretty close to the same size and they mount the same way it should work easy.

I think the only real difference is they were made for heavier applications. I don't really know that for sure though.

^^ If the 5100 is 4wd you'd probably never get that shock in place without having to let the wheel hang down over something.

The 4wd shocks are significantly longer than 2wd shocks.

appreciate the feedback.

I ordered them from 4wheelparts.com and the website shows these 5100's to be compatible. I guess I better measure the two and compare first.

Yea take one of the old ones off and set them side by side, see how much difference there is in length.

there's a substantial difference in size, so the local retailer is going to let me come in and swap them for what I need.
