Default code 32: EGR

I have a 95 ram 5.9L. I have a code 32. has anyone with that code experience a problem other than an EGR valve?. the engine runs smooth but the engine light keeps coming on. tks

Short or open in the EGR solenoid circuit.

That's an electrical problem. Is the solenoid plugged in?

tks for the reply. I am going to start working on it tomorrow. with the egr behind the intake manifold, it is hard to examine. think I will take off the shroud and fan so I can stand more comfortably.

Default may have found the problem

I verified that the electrical connection was plugged in to the solenoid. I checked the vacuum line connections and discovered that the connections between the solenoid and valve were backward (I compared my connections to the connections on new valve/solenoid found on line). about 800 miles ago I replaced the intake manifold and plenum gaskets and apparently hooked them back up backwards. took it for a short test ride and no "check engine" light. it will take more driving to confirm it is fixed but I am hopefully optimistic.

Hopefully that will take care of it.

well, the check engine light came back on. I removed the egr valve, cleaned it and reinstalled it on the engine. light came back on. replaced egr valve with new one today. just returned from a 20 mile trip. no light. hopefully it is fixed, if not, I will post again.
