Default my bad on 2nd post (newbee)

On the po 255 it flashs 1/2/5/5 so I read codes for 96 ram 5.9 that's what it said checked 3 times but I will do again when I get off work.

You do not have a P0255 code. what you have is code 12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles (normal). And code 55 End of error messages (If you get this only, no errors were found)

that info is from the 1996 factory service manuel

I picked up a code scanner from eBay for 15 bucks. It also clears codes. Well worth the money.

Will write back when I got it fixed invertently when I dropped tank I broke fuel line connentor but can fix that without any help . So what's the deal with these chips are they that good for 5.9 ?

Chips? Not sure what you are referring to. Performance chips? No good. The computer will work around it after awhile. To properly upgrade ecu function it needs to be re-programmed. Search SCT and Hemifever.

If you meant some other 'chip' disregard post.

and it also depends on what year truck you have for how easy reprogramming is.
