Default Headliner cloth falling down

I have a 98 Ram 1500 QuadCab with the headliner cloth falling down right in front of the drivers seat. Has this happened to anybody? Can the headliner be fixed, if so how? Or can you buy a new improved version that will not fall down, although I don't really want to spend any unless necessary. It seems tofall about an inch a week will soon block vision.

There's no way to fix it, so you'll have to replace it. Replacing it is a lot easier than it sounds. Go to your local fabric shop and get some material, then pull out your old headliner. Remove the old material and then get all of the old glue that's on the backing board (a stiff hairbrush works well for this). Then spray the backing board down with some 3M adhesive (can be found at your local auto parts place), and lay the new fabric down. All said and done, you could do the job in a couple hours, and it should run you less than $30.

I've seen a few headliner kits on E-bay too, but I don't know what they include for the price.

There is a fix for it...at least it has worked on mine for 4 months now. I used 3M industrial glue (comes in a spray can), and I masked everything off and sprayed the headliner with it. Then I stretched the cloth back over it. It's worked so far.

Replacing the material is probably the best solution. When I get some time, I'm going to replace the tan material on mine with some grey stuff...so it matches the rest of the interior.

I used to have a link to a good write-up, but I can't find it at the moment. Here's the one I did find: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_int...271329,00.html

Maybe it's the same one...I can't remember [>:]

I would have to agree the way I would do it is to goto advanced auto or some place similar and buy some upholstery spray glue and re attach it.
