Default Paintable Sport Front Bumper

Does anyone know if one is available and where I might find a paintable sport bumper for a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. I'm wanting to replace the orignal bumper so that the entire bumper can be painted and to get some ground effects, The truck has been lowerd 4 and 6

Hey Tippy:
I know they are available. I just powder coated a replacement one for a customer. Just don't know where he got it? If no one gets back to you, email me & I will try to call my customer & ask him where he got his.
Good Luck
Bob

are you talking about the bumper the would have been on your 96 if it was a sport or the 98+ sport bumper? the sport style bumper that would have come on your truck is the same thing as the crome one exept the crome is painted. Ive seen some that still has that nasty grey color around it. a 98+ sport bumper looks like this. if your going for a lowered truck look. personally i thing the newer one would look better. I dont know what it takes to make it fit though.

I just did a quick search on eBay for 'dodge ram front bumpers' and found a couple. I don't know what they will nail you for with shipping but there are some deals there. Worth a shot or at least a last resort.

I know it's not what you're looking for, but I have a paintable front bumper for the 94-98 Sport style.

Mikecjn,

Thanks.... I'll look again. I can find these bumpers for everything but my 1996. I'm not sure if a 1999 will fit or not. I'm thinking the fenders are different in.

The fenders should all be the same, but I believe the grilles are different. You will want to check and see if the 99-01 sport bumper will clear or match up as close as you would like. The 99-01 sports are just a plastic facia mounted to some steel brackets so you will need brackets and all to hook it up.
