Default Error Code p1740 problem

My truck was having issues going into overdrive. It is a 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9 with 46re. Error code p1740 popped up so I cleared it and drove for another couple of days. The error code came up again and than it really started to have problems shifting into overdrive (4th gear). I took a weekend off work and replaced the overdrive solenoid (tcc switch). Went for a long test drive and sure enough the code came up again. Going into overdrive is now fixed (as far as I can tell) but first gear is now a little sluggish. The gears do not slip. It just seems to like to go in and out of 1 and 2 when going lower speeds. Any ideas on what it could be?

Did you replace both the TCC solenoid, and the O/D solenoid? (if not, are you sure you replaced the right one??)

how did the fluid/filter look when you pulled the pan?

The oil still looked new and the pan was perfectly clean.the filter looked good as well. I replaced the over drive solenoid.

1740 refers to both.... Is the trans shifting normally into overdrive, and is TCC locking up appropriately?

How many miles on the truck? Have you adjusted the bands?

There are 216,000 miles on the truck. Tranny was just rebuilt less than 30,000 miles.

Everything is shifting normally. Is the p1740 code a hard that requires a system flash or abs/srs scan tool to clear?

Nope. Standard code reader should clear it just fine.

Check the connector on the drivers side of the trans, 'bout halfway back. (8 pin) Make sure it is clean, and tight.
