Default 98 2500 brakes locking up.

I haven't been able to drive my 98 ram 2500 for a couple weeks now due to injury. I went to drive it today and the rear drums were just locking up. I didn't drive it because i worried so i pulled back into the driveway and they locked up again so i left it there and went back inside. Any help is much appreciated.

Might just be rust buildup on the drums. Simply applying the brakes a couple times should clean them up.

I don't drive my truck every day, and if it sits for two or three, the first stop is interesting, rears lock right up..... after that though, it's fine.

sometimes when mine sits and its humid out like when its raining, the rears will lock up the first couple times until they dry out. like heyyou said, keep driving it a bit more see if it goes away.

Same here... humidity will rust up my drums in 2 days of sitting.
Even light braking it will bite and lock the rears... I just drive 50-100 feet lightly dragging the brakes to clean it up.
