Default 1997 Ram 1500 HVAC Vacuume Source Line

Can anyone tell where the vacuum source line thet feeds the HVAC mode switch on the dash enters the vehicle?. I only see a line running from the intake manifold that runs to the vacuum resevoir that is under the plastic cowl in front of the windshield.

That line comes off the manifold to a T fitting with a check valve and the other end of T is plugged with a screw. The cruise control works fine, but cannot switch the HVAC mode off of defrost.

Thanks for your help.

On the the '98, it goes through the firewall with the A/C lines... mine chaffed through, but I got it in time to pull some slack before it fell inside... I joined it with some rubber tube.

Spillage... good call. I Looked where you suggested and found a samll piece of the old hose right at the firewall. It looks like I can pull it back into the engine compartment about 3 inches. Now I need figure out how to splice a a new line to that so I can run it to the blocked off side of the T fitting that is after the check valve.

Thanks
