Timing chain which one?
I'm placing an order with rockauto today. Figured I should order my timing chain as well since I'll save on shipping a bit.
99 dodge ram 1500 5.2l ext cab.
Not sure which one though.
Cloyes double roller
9147 or c160
Also if there is anything else i should do while I am in there?
Thanks for the help

As far as other things, you'll have the water pump off so depending on the condition of that, you could replace that and maybe that big bypass hose at the top of it that goes into the intake. How's your serp belt?
The difference between the two is the chain pitch. The C160 says heavy duty. As far as which chain pitch I've never seen that before so I couldn't help there. I would recommend calling RockAuto: They have great help and should be able to help you choose.
I'm using the Cloyes C3028X double roller timing set on my 98 5.2l.
C160 is a chain only... I wouldn't try to mix and match stuff... do it all new with a matched sprocket & chain timing set.

As stated, be sure to get a double roller timing chain and gear set. I also installed MOPAR Performance timing chain tensioner part # P5007709, when I replaced my chain set. You can find it here:

Regardless of what timing chain set you purchase, the chain will stretch over time. The tensioner will take up that slack and keep the timing rock solid for a very long time.
