Default 03 360

Hey guys I was kinda sent over here because most third gens do not have the 5.9 gas. I have an 03 standard cab short bed with the 360 abd it came with 3.92 gears from the factory. I'm looking to mage the truck faster.I know it's not going to be a speed demon but I'd like to beef it up a bit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated- thanks in advance

Easy stuff:

Bored throttle body - available on ebay or from fastman.com

High flow cat + good flowing muffler - take your pic on brands...I used flowmaster for both but will be switching to a gibson stainless muffler soon. Check out summit racing.

SCT tuner - hemifevertuning.com

Medium level stuff:

Harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers - available from summit

Headers (shorties are easiest to fit and require less custom exhaust work) - pick your brand but remember, you get what you pay for. I'm going with gibson shorties here

Intake manifold - Hughes air gap (my choice) or mopar m1...see hughesengines.com for the air gap. Both will run you around 500-600 bones. Or you can just fix the plenum gasket with an aluminum plate and keep the factory kegger.

Advanced stuff:

Better camshaft - check out summit again or hughesengines.com...go with a comp cams or comparable brand.

Upgraded heads - search for "odessa magnum heads" on ebay

I got an 02 3rd gen like you with a 360 and had 3.92 gears factory as well. I run a 295/65r20 nitto trail grappler mts and I went to 4.56's and it has made a HUGE difference in my opinion for what its worth. I got full replacement bumpers and can still light up those 35's when I want. I'm about to get long tubes but I had good experience with Gibson stainless shorties. All the mods the csdavies26 said as well. you do all that and you'll have yourself a pretty sweet setup that might suffice for ya. But if not hey you can always turn it into a 408 stroker! lol

Sounds good I'll have to do some buying...mine is a 2wd with just the stock twenties on it...don't know if smaller rims will help or not
