hey I have a popping coming from the rear end on my truck but it dose not do it all the time any idea what it could be?

 

Is it when you let off the gas?

 

yes it dose it when I let off of the gas. but like I said it dose not do it all the time. it done it this a.m. now it seems to be fine.

 

Can you describe the sound a little better? When it pops does it make the rear of the truck wag a little? Does it do it going around turns? Or is it only when letting off the gas?


Check the tag on your rear diff if it has one and see if it has a limited slip in it or not.

 

you just can feel it in the rear end and it dose it when I let off of the gas and it will shake some when it dose it. the only way to describe the sound is it sounds like a chain sliping. and the tag on it has nothing on if its limited slip
