Default Truck dies when not on the gas

Just started happening today, as soon as I let my foot off the gas, the rpms drop to zero and the truck dies. Drives/rides fine when I am pressing gas. Any ideas will help.

Sounds like a dirty IAC, clean it. It might just have to be replaced, but try cleaning it first.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's what I was guessing too but wanted other opinions. I'm headed to oriellys now to grab a new one. Hope that's all it is.

Might just need to be cleaned rather than replaced. Common for them to crud up. Either way, clean out the throttle body good where it bolts into.

Yeah I'm in the process of replacing a ton of new stuff ever since I bought the truck. The previous owners beat it to hell, so for $35 ill just put a new one in for piece of mind.

Just a heads up, you might want to consider going to rockauto and getting an OEM IAC (denso or delphi if i recall correctly)....2nd gen rams tend to be very sensitive to electronic parts and don't always like the over-the-counter parts. Seems to vary from truck to truck...

Not sure the brand I bought but it says OEM in big letters in its side. So far it looks like that fixed it, thanks!
